Venda de resina

Bandage made with a fibreglass woven substrate impregnated with hydrophilic polyurethane resin. White colour.

Lightweight, ideal for pediatric and elderly patients.
High resistance and durability, better cost/effectiveness ratio.
Ease of moulding, it can be shaped around the joints without the need to make folds, thus eliminating the risk of wrinkles that could cause pressure points.
Extendable lengthwise, widthwise and diagonally, easy to apply.
Fast setting, lower application cost.
Translucent to X-rays in 70%, better therapeutic follow-up.
High permeability to water vapour, prevents skin maceration; It allows to make “windows” in the orthopaedic mould to increase the comfort of the patient.
Soft and smooth final finish, high comfort index.
With low adhesion resin, easier to unroll.
Capable of bearing weight 20 minutes after application, it allows loads almost immediately.
Easy to cut with scissors during the application, perfect anatomical adaptation.
It can be washed with a damp cloth, hygiene and aesthetics as added values.

Indications:

Stabilization of fractures, sprains and strains or other soft tissue injuries.
Ortho-prosthetic applications and repetition moulds.

Instructions for use:

  • First, apply a non-elastic tubular bandage and a padding bandage on the area where the mould is to be applied. The use of additional padding at pressure points and bony prominences is optional for additional protection.
  • Open only one bandage at a time. Open the foil pouch by pulling the tabs diagonally downwards. Wear gloves to prevent the resin from adhering to the user's skin.
  • Immerse the bandages one by one in warm water (20-25ºC).
  • The solidification time can be modified by varying the number of times the submerged bandage is squeezed (1 to 3 times recommended) as well as the water temperature.
  • Increasing the number of layers, the number of times the bandage is squeezed or the temperature of the water will increase the exotherm in the solidification process.
  • Apply the bandages in a spiral shape exerting a slight uniform tension (10% elongation approx.) Overlapping each layer 50% of the previous one. 2 to 4 layers are sufficient in the areas of no-load and 5 to 8 layers in the areas that have to resist the load.
  • The degree of stiffness is determined by the number of layers used (the more layers used, the stiffer the mould will be).
  • For a good lamination (adhesion between layers) rub the final mould in its entirety.
  • The final shape of the mould is achieved by holding the desired position for approximately the last 30 seconds of the setting time.
  • The moulding time is 3-5 minutes, depending on the dipping technique.
  • Weight-bearing capacity is achieved in approximately 20 minutes.
  • The casts can be reinforced or repaired with additional bandages or splints.
  • Delta-Lite Plus moulds can be removed using shears or a cast saw.
  • It may be necessary to make two cuts on opposite faces (bi-valves).
